Our driver-guides have the flexibility to make the most of each day while ensuring the itinerary is delivered as planned. They know the hidden gems along the way, from secluded waterfalls to farm-gate stalls selling some of the South Island’s best cheese. And when time allows, they can often extend a stop at a scenic lookout.

Driver-Guide
Peter
- Based in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty
- Favourite place Lake Wānaka
Peter is passionate about introducing visitors to the landscapes, people and experiences that make New Zealand such a remarkable destination. His enthusiasm for guiding comes from a genuine love of sharing the country’s natural beauty and helping guests experience its many contrasts.
He believes New Zealand’s greatest strength is its diversity. Within just a few hours’ travel, visitors can experience dramatic coastline, rolling farmland, geothermal wonders, alpine peaks and pristine lakes. It is this constantly changing scenery, combined with the warmth of Kiwi hospitality, that inspires him to work in tourism.
Surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery and unspoiled landscapes, Wānaka offers a relaxed atmosphere while still providing easy access to the many attractions of Central Otago. For Peter, it perfectly captures the balance of natural beauty and authentic New Zealand character.
Whether travelling through bustling cities, rural communities or some of the country’s most scenic regions, Peter enjoys helping visitors gain a deeper appreciation of New Zealand and creating memorable experiences along the way.

Mark

Born in New Plymouth and a fourth-generation New Zealander, Mark has spent much of his life exploring the world while sharing his passion for travel with others. His tourism career began while studying at the University of Otago, where he led camping tours around New Zealand for young international travellers.
Following university, Mark embarked on a six-year overseas experience, working as a tour driver throughout Europe, Russia, Scandinavia, Austria and Andorra. His adventures continued in Africa as an expedition leader, guiding overland journeys from London to Johannesburg aboard a former British Army 4WD truck, crossing some of the continent’s most remote regions.
Returning to New Zealand, Mark built a successful career in the travel industry, holding roles with Air New Zealand, Jetset Tours and the Mount Cook Group before establishing and operating his own inbound tour company for 24 years. After retiring in 2017, he returned to the road following Covid, keen to once again share New Zealand with visitors.
Mark particularly enjoys showcasing the stunning landscapes of Central Otago, from the rugged Maniototo to the lakes, rivers and mountain scenery surrounding Wānaka and Queenstown. Living near the coast in the King Country, he remains passionate about helping guests discover the diverse beauty and unique stories of New Zealand.

Norm

Originally from Australia, Norm moved to New Zealand in 2008 and now calls Waihi Beach home. Since settling here he has travelled extensively throughout the country, developing a deep appreciation for its people, history, culture and spectacular natural landscapes.
His passion for tourism comes from a genuine desire to share New Zealand with visitors from around the world. He enjoys showcasing the country’s unique attractions while helping guests gain a deeper understanding of what life in New Zealand is really like. Creating memorable experiences and sharing local insights are among the most rewarding parts of being a driver-guide.
Among Norm’s favourite destinations is the stunning Bay of Islands, where rich history, beautiful coastal scenery and world-class visitor experiences come together. From the Waitangi Treaty Grounds and historic Russell to scenic cruises, nature reserves and excellent food and wine, he believes it offers something for everyone. He is also particularly fond of Wellington, where he lived for 12 years and enjoys returning to explore Te Papa, the vibrant waterfront and the panoramic views from the surrounding hills.
