Price changes

Although our prices were correct at the time and date of printing, we reserve the right to amend the price of your Tour Package if there are any changes in price imposed by other operators, or increases in government taxes. We guarantee that the final price of your Tour Package will not change once we have received the final payment required for your Tour Package. If you pay your final payment to an agent, our price guarantee will not apply until we receive that payment from your agent. Please note that the price of your Tour Package excludes drinks, telephone calls, travel insurance and items of a personal nature.

Itineraries

The itinerary for your Tour Package was correct at the time of printing, but it is subject to change without notice. Your itinerary could change due to road or weather conditions, changes imposed by other tour operators or a range of other factors outside our control. You agree that we have no liability to you for changes to your itinerary.

The hotels listed in each tour itinerary represent the primary accommodations booked for each tour date and location. However, substitutions of a similar standard may occur if the designated hotel is unavailable.

  • Any hotel changes will be advised either at the time of booking or in the final personalised tour itinerary.
  • Last minute changes made due to unforeseen circumstances after documentation has been issued will be communicated by the Pure Discoveries® Driver/Guide on tour.
  • We strive to select the most suitable hotels to ensure consistent cleanliness, comfort, and service.
  • In remote locations, hotel standards and facilities may differ from those in cities.
  • Room upgrade requests are not permitted as hotel allocations are booked in advance.

New Zealand airport transfers

New Zealand airport transfers are included on all of our Tours. If however passengers have made their own pre/post tour arrangements outside of the itinerary then airport transfers are not included.

Luggage allowance

Luggage is restricted to one suitcase and one small item of hand luggage per person. Baggage handling of one suitcase per person, at each hotel, is included in the trip price. Due to limited storage capacity in the smaller vehicles used for these tours, each case should have dimensions not exceeding 30” x 20” x 12” (76 x 51 x 30cm) and 62 linear inches (157cm) and weight not exceeding 50lbs (23kg). Please note that some airlines restrict checked luggage allowance, please check this with your airline. Carry-on/hand luggage is restricted to one piece per person, not exceeding 17” x 13” x 8.7” (43 x 33 x 22cm) in order to fit under your coach seat. Carry-on/hand luggage handling is the responsibility of each guest and must be taken on and off the motorcoach by you each day of the trip. Please note that carry-ons with telescopic handles and wheels will not fit under seats and therefore cannot be accepted as carry-on luggage for safety reasons. If you exceed the stipulated luggage allowance, we cannot guarantee storage space on the motorcoach. Any additional luggage will be your responsibility to store or forward to your final destination.

Force majeure

We reserve the right to cancel, amend or reschedule your Tour Package during or following any force majeure and if we do, you agree that we will have no liability to you for any direct or indirect consequences of the cancellation, amendment or rescheduling where the performance of our contractual obligations is prevented or affected by circumstances amounting to “force majeure”. In these terms, ‘force majeure’ means any event that has an impact on your Tour Package which we or the other operator (where relevant) could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include war or threat of war, riots, civil strife, terrorist activity, pandemics, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events outside our control.

Our responsibilities

We are responsible for booking and packaging goods and services provided by other operators (“other operators”) such as hotels, attractions and transportation companies to create your Tour Package. We recommend that you familiarise yourself with the terms that will apply to those goods and services. We are not responsible and have no liability to you for the terms of other operators or for any loss, damage, omission or acts, negligent or otherwise, committed by those other operators.

Smoking and vaping

Please be aware that smoking and vaping are not permitted in any premises licenced to sell alcohol in New Zealand (bars, restaurants, cafes, casinos, etc). You cannot smoke or vape in your hotel rooms or any of our vehicles.

Health and fitness

You should be in good health and able to walk moderate distances to fully appreciate all of the sightseeing opportunities in your Tour Package. By paying your deposit you confirm that you are of reasonable health, are fit to travel, and are not travelling contrary to medical advice. We reserve the right to cancel your booking or to remove you from a tour if your health or fitness interferes with any other passenger’s experiences or the day to day running of the tour. If you will be bringing medication with you, we recommend that you carry a doctor’s certificate in relation to that medication to avoid possible problems with customs officials and that you investigate whether you will be able to bring your medication into New Zealand. Doctor’s prescriptions are needed to obtain certain drugs in both Australia and New Zealand. You agree that we have no liability to you for any loss, damage, costs or other effects of health problems you may encounter on your Tour Package.

Customs, immigration and New Zealand law

It is your responsibility to comply with any New Zealand immigration, customs and/or quarantine regulations when entering New Zealand and to comply with New Zealand laws and regulations when in the country. We will not, under any circumstances, have any liability or responsibility to you if you do not comply with any customs and immigration rules and regulations or if you fail to comply with any laws during your Tour Package. For example, if your failure to comply with immigration requirements means that you cannot enter New Zealand and commence your Tour Package, you will not be entitled to any refund or any other payment from us and our standard cancellation policy will apply.

New Zealand Government travel protocols

All passengers that travel to New Zealand must abide with New Zealand Government mandated travel protocols. Pure Discoveries® cannot be held liable/responsible for any costs incurred due to changes to New Zealand Government travel protocols. Any additional costs incurred will be the responsibility of the traveller.

Modular trips

To give our travellers greater flexibility with more travel dates and tour durations to select from, some of our tours are modular and form part of a larger itinerary. As a result, some parts of tours may at times overlap with others, meaning some travellers in the group may start their adventure earlier than others, or may continue travelling after other passengers tours have ended.
