Find Your Perfect Tour

All of our tours follow the same carefully crafted route through New Zealand. Shorter tours join the journey at different points, so you share the road, the driver-guide, and many of the same handpicked experiences. The only difference is how much of the route you travel.

North Island + South Island

Want Both Islands, but Not All at Once?

Travel the North Island section on one trip and the South Island section on another. Same route, same quality, split across two visits whenever it suits you.

Explore New Zealand Your Way

Whether you have one week or several, you can choose the Pure Discoveries® itinerary that best suits your time and interests.

All tours offer the same small-group experience, expert driver-guides, carefully selected accommodation, and outstanding service.

Shared Journeys, New Friendships One of the joys of small-group travel is the people you meet along the way. As some Pure Discoveries® tours travel together for sections of the journey, you'll have opportunities to share experiences, swap stories, and form new friendships while exploring New Zealand together.

Helping You Decide

The questions travellers ask most when choosing a New Zealand tour.

Choose the tour that best matches your available time and the regions you’d like to explore. With itineraries ranging from 10 to 23 days across the North Island, South Island, or both, there’s a Pure Discoveries® journey to suit every traveller.

The best choice depends on how much of New Zealand you would like to see and the time you have available. For the most comprehensive first visit, choose the 23-day Kauri Tour. Our Pōhutukawa, Kōwhai, Rimu and Tōtara Tours also explore both islands over 12 to 20 days. If you would prefer to focus on one island, choose the 11-day Koromiko Tour for the North Island, or the 14-day Mt. Cook Lily or 10-day Mataī Tour for the South Island. Compare the itineraries to find the destinations and experiences that most interest you.

Yes. The Koromiko explores the North Island only, from the Bay of Islands through Rotorua and Napier to Wellington. The Mataī and the Mt Cook Lily focus on the South Island, taking in the Southern Alps, Fiordland and Queenstown. You can also travel the two islands on separate trips and pick up exactly where you left off.

Every Pure Discoveries® tour carries a maximum of 16 guests. A smaller group means a smaller vehicle, quicker stops, quieter viewpoints, and a driver-guide who travels with you the whole way and gets to know what you came to see. It is a genuinely different experience from a large coach tour.

Our touring season runs from spring through autumn (October to April), when New Zealand has its warmest weather and longest days. Every tour has several departures across the season, and the most popular dates fill well ahead, so it pays to book early once you have chosen your tour.

Customisable days are built into every Pure Discoveries® itinerary. On these days, you choose from two included Your Choice activities that suit your interests. The choice is yours at no extra cost. When you take part in a Your Choice activity, you join a shared public tour operated by one of our trusted supplier partners.
